All is it potentially easier than conversing directly with another person it is a section where a lot of people struggle. In this case, you should keep that in mind and be well prepared for this section.
It is the only section as well that actually tests a lot of your abilities in that you will have to read and listen and of course speaking. TOEFL speaking, if prepared well for can be an easy section to pick up some points on the test.

TOEFL Speaking Question Run Down

The overall speaking part of the exam requires you to complete 6 tasks, this can include topics such as giving your opinion, give a summary on lectures and conversations and speak about the opinions of others. The layout of the speaking section will remain the same however the speaking topics will differ between exams.

The two categories of the section are broken down into independent and integrated, with integrated covering 4 of the tasks. You should familiarize yourself with the ins and outs of these tasks and the difference in the categories.

You will have only 20 minutes to complete the speaking section and it will be over before you know it, for this reason, I think it is vital to prepare for the TOEFL speaking section correctly perhaps this is why people tend to struggle with this section as they are under the idea that it only takes 20 minutes and that it won’t require preparation but it is quite the contrary.

The scoring Break Down to the Speaking Section

Your score will be based on your ability to read, listen, pronunciation, grammar, time management, and note-taking. For every task you complete you will receive a score between 0-4. Your scores will be then scaled and the combined speaking score will be out of 30 points.

Score Quality:

• 0-9 (weak)
• 10-17 (fair)
• 18-25 (good)
• 25-30 (excellent)

TOEFL Tips and Practicing
woman speakingBefore I begin I think I should stress that you should have in mind that this is only one section of the TOEFL exam and that you will need to give appropriate time to study each section. You shouldn’t be nervous or worried about completing this part of the exam and if you take the TOEFL tips that I will give you and pay good attention to the information discussed above then you should have no fears and full confidence going into this section and the overall exam.

1. Taking Great notes: being able to take down great notes while you listen can help you to keep the main ideas in mind. Try to keep the notes brief and precise to give yourself the best chance. You will need to be able to pay serious attention while listening to enable yourself to take these great notes.

2. Staying Relaxed: take a 10 – 15-second break. Being able to think straight is crucial so try to sit back and take a few deep breaths. Don’t suffer under pressure and let your nerves affect you or your points will suffer, so give yourself the best opportunity of success.

3. Keeping Your Focus: trying to keep your cool and focus on the task at hand is the key. The testing center is a place that obviously can get noisy with everyone speaking at the same time as you. You will need to block all of this background noise out and stay focused. You could try to do some TOEFL practice and create your own distractions so you will be more comfortable in this situation come the exam.

4. Beware of Plagiarism: this should be quiet straight forward. If you try to replicate sentences there will be a hint of cheating to the examiner and it could also lead to canceled scores so you should try to be careful of this.

5. Timing: trying to finish as close to the end time as possible is good. However, the closer to the finish you get can be risky. A lot of test takers come across as having unfinished and incomplete work as they have run out of time. Time management is something you should be well aware of before the test and should be trying perfect it before taking the TOEFL exam.

With bearing all of these tips in mind and doing as much TOEFL practice before taking the TOEFL speaking and TOEFL tips you should be able to now go on and ace that test.

Good luck!
